La piscina norte en la actualidad en el National September 11 Memorial & Museum, que marca el lugar donde la Torre Norte se erguía.

La Torre Norte (conocida como Torre 1, o 1 WTC) del World Trade Center en Nueva York fue completada e inaugurada en 1970. Con una altura de 417 m (1,368 ft), es distinguible de la Torre Sur por la altura de 362 pies (110 m) de la antena de telecomunicaciones o mástil del techo. La dirección de este edificio era 1 World Trade Center con su propio código postal: 10048. Fue destruida junto con la Torre Sur en los atentados del 11 de septiembre de 2001. La Torre Norte fue la primera en ser atacada, cuando fue impactada por el Vuelo 11 de American Airlines a las 8:46 A.M. impactando entre las plantas 93 a 99 y fue la segunda en colapsarse, a las 10:28 A.M. Nadie desde el piso 92 hasta la última planta (piso 110) sobrevivió al ataque.[1]​ Este fue el edificio más alto del mundo durante dos años hasta que su altura fue superada por la Torre Willis en Chicago.

La Torre Norte fue reemplazada por el actual One World Trade Center que abrió sus puertas en 2014 como el edificio líder del reconstruido World Trade Center.
