In 1959 the new Farina shaped bodies were introduced at Austin, the compact was the A40 Farina, the mid size, the A55 Cambridge and the large, the A99 Westminster. The Wolseley 6/99 following shortly after in 1959, it was pretty much the same car as the Austin, like other Wolseleys, just a bit more upmarket, with polished timber dash and leather seats. The similar Vanden Plas Princess was more upmarket again. The 6/99 was built from 1959 and was updated with the 6/110 in 1961, identical to look at, but there were mechanical improvements, power was up and the 3 speed column shift was moved to the floor. A further update in 1964 was the Mk II 6/110, now with a 4 speed and smaller 13 inch wheels, production ended in 1968
