Referendum of the First Nations editar

In 1995 there were two other referendum in Canada, on October 24 (a week before the Quebec Referendum). There were held by the so called "First Nations".

The Cree Nation voted on the question: "Do you consent, as a people, that the Government of Quebec separate the James Bay Crees and Cree traditional territory from Canada in the event of a Yes vote in the Quebec referendum?". 96.3% of the 77% of Crees who cast ballots voted to stay in Canada.

The Inuit of Nunavik voted on the question: "Do you agree that Quebec should become sovereign?", with 96% voting No.

Those referendums were held in reaction to the Quebec referendum. The First Nations territory represented approximately half of the Quebec Province and has important natural resources. Those referendums strengthened the tension for the Quebec referendum.

I think that those 2 referendums should be mentioned in this article since, in some way, they were part of the Quebec 1995 referendum.
