=== Clima ===
El clima es templado, seco y soleado en el día y frío en la noche. Las precipitaciones se dan de diciembre a marzo y se presentan con el fenómeno del Niño en forma cíclica, que es un fenómeno climatológico del norte peruano tropical. Su temperatura media anual es de 15,8 °C. Caliente por las mañanas, frío de noche. Por la cercanía al Ecuador y por ser una ciudad ubicada en [[Pisos térmicos|piso térmico]] bajo, tiene un invierno suave y un verano caluroso y lluvioso en febrero. La temperatura media anual: máxima media 21 °C y mínima media: 6 °C
La estación de lluvias intensas se da de [[diciembre]] a [[marzo]], perteneciente al verano costeño. La seca que corresponde al otoño y el invierno en el hemisferio sur, bastante templado durante el día y refrigerado en las noches, se presenta entre los meses de mayo a septiembre.
Los andes cajamarquinos son semi-áridos. Cajamarca es el punto inicial entre los andes secos del sur y los andes húmedos del [[Ecuador]] y [[Colombia]]. Hay una estación definida de lluvias que se reflejan en los datos de radiación solar.
