El Eufuismo desempeñó un papel importante en la historia literaria inglesa probando la flexibilidad de que era capaz la prosa. El término ha venido a equivaler en la estilística del [[Barroco]] al [[conceptismo]] español, al [[preciosismo]] francés y al [[seiscentismo]] y [[marinismo]] italianos.
