La discografía completa de la carrera en solitario de Phil Collins, consta de ocho álbumes de estudio, un álbum en vivo , dos bandas sonoras, dos álbumes de compilación, un álbum de remezclas, un box set y cuarenta y cinco sencillos. Collins es un cantante y compositor, baterista, tecladista y actor británico, más conocido como baterista y vocalista de la banda inglesa de rock progresivo Genesis. Ganador de un Grammy y el Premio de la Academia, Collins ha vendido más de 33 millones de álbumes en los Estados Unidos, y en todo el mundo alrededor de 150 millones de discos.[1]​

El primer álbum como solista de Collins, Face Value, fue lanzado en el Reino Unido en febrero de 1981 y alcanzó el puesto número uno en el UK Albums Chart y fue certificado 5 veces por Platino por la Industria Fonográfica Británica (BPI).[2]​[3]​ Su segundo álbum, Hello, I Must Be Going! , fue lanzado en 1982 e incluía el número uno del Reino Unido " No puedes apurar al amor ". El álbum alcanzó el número dos en el Reino Unido y fue certificado 3 veces de Platino.[2]​[3]​ En 1984, Collins grabó "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)", la balada que disparó al número uno en los EE. UU. en el Billboard Hot 100 y el número dos en el Reino Unido. Él también realizó un dúo con Philip Bailey, para la canción "Easy Lover" (1985), que alcanzó el número dos en los EE. A principios de 1985 Collins lanzó su tercer álbum, No Jacket Required, que contenía los éxitos "Sussudio" y "One More Night". También grabó la canción "Separate Lives", donde formó un dueto con Marilyn Martin, que alcanzó el número uno en los EE. UU. No Jacket Required debutó en el número uno en los EE. UU. y el Reino Unido, es el álbum más vendido de su carrera y ha sido certificado por Diamante en los EE. UU. por las ventas de más de 10 millones y seis veces Platino en el Reino Unido.[3]​[5]​ En 1988, Collins contribuyó con canciones para la banda sonora de la película Buster, en el que también interpretó: "Two Hearts", y la contraportada de " Un lindo tipo de amor ", el último de los cuales se convirtió en un número uno por el Reino Unido y en EE. UU.[2]​[4]​ En 1989, Collins produjo otro álbum exitoso álbum, ...But Seriously, con el himno de lucha contra la falta de vivienda "Another Day in Paradise", que alcanzó el número uno en los EE. UU. y el número dos en el Reino Unido.[2]​[4]​ Un álbum en vivo, Serious Hits... Live! fue publicado en 1990.

El quinto álbum de Collins, Both Sides, fue lanzado en noviembre de 1993, a pesar de que tuvo menos éxito que sus anteriores discos, el álbum alcanzó el número uno en el Reino Unido.[2]​ Su siguiente álbum, Dance into the Light , fue lanzado en 1996 y fue aún menos exitoso, alcanzando el número cuatro en el Reino Unido y fue solamente certificado Plata.[2]​[3]​ Una recopilación de grandes éxitos fue lanzado en 1998 y fue éxito, volviendo Collins al número uno y multi-platino en el Reino Unido y los EE. Collins también escribió e interpretó canciones para la película animada de Disney "Tarzán", y "Brother Bear". Testify fue el séptimo álbum de estudio de Collins y fue lanzado en 2002. Fue un éxito en Europa, con un pico en el número quince en el Reino Unido y dentro de los primeros cinco en Austria, Alemania y los Países Bajos. Después de la publicación de Testify, Collins anunció que iba a entrar en un semi-retiro,[6]​ y lanzó dos compilados. En septiembre de 2010, Collins lanzó su octavo y último álbum de estudio, Going Back.
