TT Isla de Man de 1959

El TT Isla de Man de 1959 fue la segunda prueba de la temporada 1959 del Campeonato Mundial de Motociclismo. El Gran Premio se disputó del 1 al 6 de junio de 1959 en el circuito de Snaefell Mountain Course.

Resultados TT Senior 500cc editar

El Senior TT estaba programado para el viernes 5 de junio, pero fue pospuesto por un día debido a las condiciones climáticas. Pero el clima también fue muy malo el sábado. La carrera comenzó en seco, permitiendo que John Surtees registrara un récord de vuelta permanente de 101.18 millas por hora, pero luego los conductores se enfrentaron a fuertes lluvias y neblina, bajando el promedio de carrera de Surtees a 87.94 millas por hora. Ganó la carrera cinco minutos por delante de Alistair King y diez minutos por delante del tercer hombre Bob Brown. El compañero de equipo de Surtees John Hartle se retiró.[1]​

Resultados Junior 350cc editar

John Surtees ganó el Junior sin problemas, pero su compañero de equipo John Hartle fue relegado al tercer lugar por Bob McIntyre, a su AJS 7R estancado en la cuarta vuelta. Después de eso, Hartle también tuvo que luchar los ataques de Alistair King. Geoff Duke terminó cuarto en su última carrera TT.[1]​

Resultados Lightweight 250cc editar

MV Agusta ganó con Tarquinio Provini la Lightweight, con Carlo Ubbiali segundo, pero encontraron mucha oposición del piloto privado Mike Hailwood con su Mondial 250 Bialbero. Desde la sexta hasta la octava vuelta, Hailwood incluso lideró, pero su máquina se detuvo en Brandish Corner. Provini y Ubbiali protagonizaron una carrera emocionante, terminando con solo cuatro décimas de diferencia. Dave Chadwick, que también pilotó con MV Agusta 250 Bicilindrica para la ocasión, terminó tercero. Tommy Robb llevó el "Geoff Monty Special" en cuarto lugar.

Ultra-Lightweight 125 cc TT editar

El Lightweight 125 cc TT, Tarquinio Provini ganó la carrera con su MV Agusta 125 Bialbero, pero se enfrentó a una considerable oposición de Luigi Taveri con la MZ RE 125 y a Mike Hailwood con su Ducati 125 Trialbero. Taveri realizó la vuelta más rápida, pero le faltaron siete segundos para el final. Honda obtuvo su primer punto en la Copa Mundial porque Naomi Taniguchi envió su Honda RC 142 al sexto lugar. Honda también ganó el premio del equipo por séptimo Giichi Suzuki, octavo Teisuke Tanaka y décimo Junzo Suzuki.
