La temporada 2011 del Campeonato Mundial de Turismos será la octava temporada de la WTCC y el séptimo desde su reaparición del 2005. Comenzó con Brasil en el Curitiba el 20 de marzo y finalizó con el Circuito da Guia en Macao el 20 de noviembre, después de veinticuatro carreras.

La serie va a pasar por cambios importantes como que sea la primera temporada sin BMW como un constructor, nuevos circuitos Suzuka y Guangdong que viene al campeonato, nuevos pilotos tales como Pepe Oriola y Robert Dahlgren para toda la temporada. La serie va a perder la Fórmula 2 como un campeonato de soporte, pero será reemplazado por la Auto GP. También será apoyado por una nueva serie, European Production Series.

Calendario editar

El calendario provisional fue aprobado por la FIA World Motor Sport Council el 8 de septiembre de 2010[14]​ pero sufrió modificaciones el 3 de noviembre,[15]​ 7 de diciembre de 2010[16]​ y el 8 de marzo de 2011.[17]​ El circuito que substiruirá al de Marrakech, será el de Hungaroring.
