Thanks for your explanation. So then, if the name ends in -a or -e you add an s to mark the genitive, but if the name ends in -i you change it to -u. However, it seems there is another groups, the names that end in -pils which don't change, right? For example, Daugavpils and Daugavpils novads. I asked you if you was born during the soviet era, you answer me "yes", well, we were compatriots during a little time (1985-1991), because I was born during the soviet era too (in Armenia), (I was born in 1970). Now I'm living in Argentina.
