Willet in flight. Wiki says "The Willet, Tringa semipalmata (formerly Catoptrophorus semipalmatus: Pereira & Baker, 2005; Banks et al., 2006), is a large shorebird in the sandpiper family. It is a well-sized and stout scolopacid, the largest of the shanks." Photo by Mike Baird bairdphotos.com 11/5/07 photo request says: I am researching photos for the Audubon National Wildlife Refuge. I came across a photo of a willet on your Flickr site that could work for an interpretive sign that will be installed at the refuge. I attach the photo here for your reference.
