SKY was launched in Brazil in 1996, owned by [[British Sky Broadcasting]], [[Liberty Media]] and [[Organizações Globo | Globo Comunicações e Participações.]] In [[Brazil]], [[DirecTV]] and Sky merged (as in Mexico), were initially under the name SKY + DirecTV, since renamed simply SKY.
