A pesar de sufrir un incendio en su primera parada en boxes, Michael Schumacher fue capaz de obtener la victoria, beneficiándose del abandono de Juan Pablo Montoya. Kimi Räikkönen finalizó en segundo lugar, seguido de Rubens Barrichello.
