Professional Biography editar

At eighteen he entered the School of Hospitality of Malaga La Cónsula. During the first three years he learned the basis of national gastronomy. His idea of ​​the kitchen changed when in 1996 he entered as an apprentice in the restaurant of the Basque chef Martín Berasategui [1]​. After this stage, he became part of the kitchen in several restaurants in Malaga. In 1998 he opened his first restaurant, "El tragabuches"[2]​ , in Ronda, with which he won a Michelin star in 2000.

In 2005, he opened the restaurant "Calima".In 2007 he achieved his first Michelin star and the second in 2011.[3]

Showing an innate entrepreneurial character, in 2010 he created a successful line of franchised restaurants called "Lamoraga".[4]​ And in 2012 he founded the "Dani Garcia Catering", a new business project with the idea of ​​moving Dani's haute cuisine to events.


The kitchen of Dani editar

Dani García's cuisine is an innovative cuisine based on contrasts, but at the same time rescues the traditional flavors of Southern Spanish cuisine.During an exhibition, the Malaga chef impressed British gastronomy experts on an evening in which he showed avant-garde recipes, an ice cream cap of virgin olive oil and some tomato and oil popcorn, made with liquid nitrogen at a temperature of 196 degrees below zero.

In the same way that Basque cuisine has been among the highest standards of world cuisine for years, Dani García, with his innovative style but at the same time respectful of its origins, has succeeded in locating dishes as characteristic of Andalusian cuisine as the ajoblanco, the gazpacho, or the pipirrana in authentic culinary delights.
