Born Against
Born Against fue una banda estadounidense de hardcore punk, oriundos de Nueva York y activos entre 1989 y 1993.[1] Se destacaron por ser una banda ligada al hazlo tu mismo, con ideas de extrema izquierda y cuestionamientos a la subcultura punk de su época. A pesar de recibir una moderada atención de los medios mientras todavía estaban juntos, con los años han sido descritos como "legendarios" por Chicago Reader y LA Weekly.[2][3]

Su primera formación estuvo integrada por el vocalista Sam McPheeters, el guitarrista Adam Nathanson, el bajista Burke y el baterista John Guzman,[4] el cual fue reemplazado por George, seguido de Nigel Schreiber en julio de 1989.[5] Con constantes cambios de bajistas y bateristas, el cuarteto publicó dos álbumes: Nine Patriotic Hymns for Children (1991) y Battle Hymns of the Race War (1993), por el extinto sello Verniform, sumado a numerosos splits y EP.
Born Against dio su último show en julio del 1993.[6] De forma póstuma aparecieron los compilatorios Patriotic Battle Hymns[7] y The Rebel Sound of Shit and Failure,[8][9][10] por Verniform, y relanzados por Kill Rock Stars en 2003.[11]
