Starsky y Hutch era una serie de televisión norteaméricana de los 70s que consistía en 92 episodios de 48 minutos y un piloto de 90 de duración, creada por William Blinn y equipo entre el 30 de abril de 1975 y el 15 de mayo de 1979 en la cadena ABC. Era dirigida por Jack Starrett (bajo el nombre de Claude Ennis Starrett Jr.). Starrett luego dirigió Los Dukes de Hazzard (1979), una serie de alguna forma similar.
Los protagonistas eran dos policias californianos, el morocho David Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) como el musculoso y conductor y el rubio Ken 'Hutch' Hutchinson (David Soul) siendo un tipo de policía mas intelectual. Eran conocidos por manejar un veloz y distintivo Ford Torino, pintado de rojo con una larga franja blanca. Su contacto en en mundo under era Huggy Bear (Antonio Fargas).

In 1977, a rising concern about violence on TV forced the screenplay writers to cut down on action scenes as compared to more romantic developments. This contributed to the fading popularity of the series, which was abandoned two years later.
A quarter century after it left the television airwaves, the series was the inspiration for the movie Starsky & Hutch, released in 2004 and starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
