El 6 de noviembre, Itami presentó a su compañero [[Fergal Devitt|Finn Balor]] con el que confrontó a The Ascension. El 26 de marzo de 2015 ganó un torneo en WrestleMania Axxess para entrar al Battle Royal en honor a André the Giant, en el kick-off de WrestleMania , pero no logró ganar siendo [[Paul Wight|Big Show]] el ganador. El 29 de abril en fue anunciado para una triple amenaza entre el Tyler Breeze y Finn Balor para ser el contendiente n°1 al [[NXT Championship|Campeonato de NXT]] en [[NXT TakeOver|NXT Takeover: Unstoppable]], pero antes del evento fue atacado en el estacionamiento siendo lesionado del hombro y teniendo que ser sacado de la lucha. Después tuvo que ser operado estando inactivo por 4 meses. En su recuperación, tuvo una aparición especial en [[The Beast in the East]] junto a [[Tatsumi Fujinami]].
