Iain Crichton Smith

Iain Crichton Smith, Iain Mac a' Ghobhainn (Glasgow,1 de enero de 1928-Taynuilt, 15 de octubre de 1998) fue un prolífico escritor escocés que escribía en inglés y gaélico.​

Nacido en Glasgow, se mudó a los dos años con su familia a la isla de Lewis.

Se graduó en lengua inglesa en la Universidad de Aberdeen y trabajó como maestro en el ejército británico en Clydebank, Dumbarton y Oban hasta 1952.

Se retiró para dedicarse completamente a la literatura en 1977.
