| Official description | The dominant feature of this flag is a black and white Silver Fern. The leaves and stem on the top side of the fern are white on a black background. The leaves and stem on the bottom side are black on a white background. The fern frond sweeps up from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of the flag. |
