Darier describes a very raretype with enormous plaques, which he calls Pityriasis gigantea. I believe I have had two such cases, one in a young womanin whom the nearly vmiversal eruption, quoted above, occurred, inwhom the itching was intolerable for a month and more, and leftmuch desquamation and staining; another very extensive eruption ina young man, with many follicular maculo-papules, which were veryitchy. This case recalled the very anomalous case quoted by Fox, inwhich the papules were also follicular. Besnier long ago noted thesite of the early pityriasis papule as being follicular.
