Anexo:Banderas nacionales por relación de aspecto

La siguiente tabla muestra las proporciones o relación de aspecto (alto x ancho) de las banderas por países. Otro tipo de banderas, como las insignias, se enumeran en la columna "Banderas alternativas" si tienen proporciones diferentes a las de la bandera nacional a la que están adscritas. Quedan excluidos los territorios sin una bandera oficial distinta a la del país al que están sujetos. Las proporciones más utilizadas son 2:3, utilizada por 88 de los 195 estados soberanos, como Argelia y Pakistán, seguida de 1:2, utilizada por 55 estados soberanos, como Canadá y Nigeria, seguida de 3:5, utilizada por 17 estados soberanos, como Alemania y Bangladés. La mayoría de los estados dependientes y las antiguas colonias utilizan las mismas proporciones que el de las metrópolis de origen.Todos los territorios británicos de ultramar utilizan la proporción 1:2, mientras que las banderas de la mayoría de las antiguas y actuales áreas holandesas y francesas tienen proporciones de 2:3. Las proporciones también se pueden leer en forma de número decimal, que es el ancho de la bandera dividido por la altura. Por ejemplo, una bandera 2:3 ( dos de alto por tres de ancho) tiene una proporción decimal igual a 1,5 (es decir, 3 dividido entre 2). Las banderas con proporciones anormales sólo tienen una aproximación decimal y tienen la forma exacta escrita en la columna "Notas" (que también incluye información adicional como banderas similares, cambios recientes de banderas, etc.).

  1. The website of the prime minister's office gives a flag with a ratio of 2:3 listed beneath it.
  2. Another page on the website of the Seimas (Lithuanian parliament) says "[the flag's] width to height ratio is 1 to 2", which seems to refer to the flag's ratio before the 2004 amendment to the flag law.
  3. The law stipulates that the flag should have a white hem (uçkurluk) at the hoist side, one thirtieth of the flag height wide, which would make the flag's aspect ratio 15:23. This hem however does not appear to be part of the flag design.
