Edad de oro islámica

- Kitab al-Taṣrif (c. 1000) - Enciclopedia quirúrgica.[15]
- Libro de Óptica (c. 1000): ejerció una gran influencia en la ciencia occidental.[16] Fue traducido al latín y se utilizó hasta principios del siglo XVII.[17] El médico alemán Hermann von Helmholtz reprodujo varias teorías de la percepción visual que se encontraban en el primer Libro de Óptica, del que citó y copió.[18]
- El Canon de medicina (c. 1000): descrito por Sir William Osler como una "biblia médica" y "el libro de texto médico más famoso jamás escrito". [19] El Canon de medicina introdujo el concepto de síndrome como ayuda para el diagnóstico y estableció un marco esencial para un ensayo clínico.[20] Fue traducido al latín por Gerardo de Cremona y se utilizó ampliamente en las escuelas de medicina europeas.[20][21] También se convirtió en el texto de anatomía de más autoridad hasta el siglo XVI.[22]
